A word of warning to all you jokers...
"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
About a month ago I played a fantastically funny practical joke on MSN…this is how it went…
Phase 1 – Myself, Snoph and Sarah B were online having a conversation and I most amusingly changed my screen name and font etc to match Sarah’s…I then proceeded to finish off her sentences, much to the confusion of Sophie and the amusement of myself.
Phase 2 – Richard was added to the conversation but asked by myself (in a separate conversation) not to speak. I then changed my screen name to Richards and pretended to be him. So convincing was I that Sarah phoned Richard to discover the truth…Richard lied through his teeth and said it WAS him on MSN.
AMUSING INTERLUDE – Richard and Sarah start talking with matching screen names much to the confusion of me and Snoph.
Phase 3 - In another conversation window, myself and Snoph decided to go one step further. We exchanged passwords and then signed in to MSN as each other. Sarah had no way of knowing that she was talking to me when she spoke to Snoph and talking to Snoph when she spoke to me.
Phase 4 – (and this is where it gets even better) – My dad (who works in the same office as me) sets up a hotmail account – mrsgibbs@hotmail.co.uk – and comes on to MSN pretending to be our old headmistress Mrs Gibbs. Sarah believing it to be me says some things that she wouldn’t dare to say to the real Mrs Gibbs before realising that both myself and Sophie are also talking and therefore cannot be Mrs Gibbs!
END OF MSN CONVERSATION
All would have been well and good, but apparently Sarah was quite upset by this (sorry Sarah) and blocked us all on MSN. Oops…
TUESDAY – Jess sends Sarah e-mail saying that she has met up with Mrs Gibbs in Dulwich and discussed the MSN conversation…ie. Implies that it really was Mrs G online.
IN CONCLUSION
Anyway…although I have tried to apologise many times, Sarah is no longer talking to me….like never ever again talking to me….BUT…I thought she might still read my blog so here it is … for the record… in front of all you bloggers…
Sarah. I really am sorry that I hurt your feelings. I understand that we went too far with the joke by sending the e-mail and I’m really sorry that it has meant I have lost such a good friend.
