Is that Sunday night quiz down the local pub easier than warming up yesterday’s pizza? Fancy a shot at geeky celebrity status? How about buzzing for a starter for 10 before being shot down by Jeremy? Come on, come on!!!

It’s that time of year again when the BBC are looking for the nation’s finest tax-dodgers to compete in a new series of University Challenge, the quiz that inspires your bum to hug the sofa to see if you have any hope of passing your exams.

Pre-formed teams are preferred, but if not enough individuals show interest then we can compile a team. Entrants MUST be either undergraduates or post-graduates during the 2006/2007 academic year. The show producers advise is that you have a good grasp of general knowledge and that at least one of you is a scientist, or has a good A-Level grade in a science subject. Your Students Union is keen to have a team take part in the show, so if you’re interested then please contact Owen Morris, the S.U. Treasurer to arrange your preliminary application.
