The Adventures of Jeff the Fearless – Part 1
Jeff the Fearless was sleeping dreamily in his bed when he heard a sudden scream, it was his beloved, the princess Josephina! Leaping to his feet Jeff dashed to the window and looking out into the darkness. To his horror, a terrifying monster was carrying off the beautiful Josephina in its gigantic claws! Luckily Jeff always slept in his knight-wear and so, stopping only to whistle for his trusty steed, he hastened into the night!
For 7 nights and 4 days Jeff and Trevor galloped across the snow capped mountains (Trevor doing most of the galloping) chasing the monster, which dominated the stormy skies (above him). Finally the monster began to descend and hiding behind a rock Jeff and Trevor watched as the monster entered a corridor cut deep into the mountain. Leaving Trevor cowering behind a signpost, which read “The Infinite corridor of Infinite Torture”, Jeff followed the monster into the oppressive darkness!
Jeff hurried along the corridor, which was illuminated dimly by what appeared to be bioluminescent algae on the walls. Looking closer however Jeff saw to his horror that they were in fact radioactive cockroaches, “Yuk,” said Jeff, “I hate cockroaches!” The pulsating walls appeared to be moving closer together as Jeff bravely strode onwards. Nestled between two blue doors labelled the rooms of Impending Disaster and Impending Despair Jeff found “The Room of Doom”. Comforted by the fresh scent of the pine door, its pleasant rhyming scheme and the lack of the word Impending in the title, Jeff entered!
The door slammed shut behind him and through the murky darkness he heard an ominous snorting sound. Suddenly Jeff felt hot breath on the back of his neck, “Josephina?” he whispered as the shirt was ripped from his muscular torso, “I don’t think this is quite the time or the place!”

NOW BACK TO THE STORY
Waking up, Jeff looked around groggily, he appeared to be bound to an office chair and gagged with his own shirt. “Josephina,” he struggled to say through the thick gag, “ This REALLY isn’t the time or the place.” Suddenly the walls burst into light and Jeff saw the enormous bulk of the dreadful monster lurching towards him, casting huge shadows all around. As the monster’s claws descended upon him Jeff muttered the secret words he had promised never to share with anyone (not even the narrators)!
On a far away cloud, Fluff the fairy was gazing dreamily into the sky, her translucent wings fluttering in the gentle breeze. Suddenly she leapt to her feet, “I’ll help you Jeff,” she cried waving her wand in the air, “be not afraid fearless warrior!”
Immediately Jeff found his bonds were loosed and he was fully armoured, holding a sword and magic shield, “I’m not quite sure about the pirate hat,” he said. Gripping his sword firmly Jeff struck out at the monster, hacking at its body and wings. Suddenly the monster gave a roar of pain and fell to the floor, leaping on it Jeff gripped his sword in both hands and stabbed sharply downwards straight through the monsters heart!
Leaving the monster a mangled heap on the floor Jeff carefully wiped his blood stained sword clean and strode onward. Heading through another door marked “This way to the cave of mirrors” he found himself in a wide hall faced by 2 large metal doors. “Ah ha,” said Jeff, “This must be the way to the cave of mirrors.” Jeff pressed the strange buttons next to the doors but they remained firmly shut. “There must be a key,” Jeff said to himself, “But how will I ever find it?” Jeff sat dejectedly by the tightly closed doors, which he knew were the only thing keeping him from Josephine, suddenly a mystical key card appeared before him floating in the air, Jeff turned quickly, but there was no one there!
Slightly freaked out by the magically appearing key Jeff quickly poked the key card in the gap between the two doors. They slid gently open revealing a huge metallic cave, the walls covered in mirrors. Jeff could see Josephine tied up in a corner but the mirrors multiplied her a hundred times, imprinting the picture on his memory for future reference Jeff dashed forward groping to find the real Josephine. At last Jeff found he was groping the real Josephine. “ Hurry,” Jeff yelped as Josephine slapped him, “We must escape this terrible place!”
Jeff and Josephine dashed back through the great hall, over the monster and down the long dark corridor. Finally they saw a gleam of light in the distance and as they staggered from the tunnel, blinking in the daylight they saw Trevor waiting for them. “ Oh Josephine,” cried Jeff, “Oh Jeff,” cried Josephine, “my Hero!”
